Andrew Chun, Pierson College, andrew.chun@readysetlaunch.org

Andrew Chun plans to major in either Anthropology or Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry. He is originally from Rochester, NY, which is far too cold and snowy for his liking, although he likes to ski. Andrew loves reading, writing, and playing tennis. An interesting fact about him is he broke his leg in a supermarket with in a grocery cart.

Anthony Fumagalli, Silliman College, anthony.fumagalli@readysetlaunch.org

Anthony Fumagalli was born and raised in San Diego, CA. During his high school years, he became very involved in the city’s struggling education system and worked closely with other students throughout the college application process. He is a huge sports fan. His favorite teams are the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Chargers, and Los Angeles Lakers.

Ashley Wu, Morse College, ashley.wu@readysetlaunch.org

Ashley Wu is a tentative Economics major from Portland, OR. She likes watching movies, drinking coffee, and being in the great outdoors. Despite her many, many talents, she is perhaps most proud of her ability to blow bubble gum! Back in her hometown, she’s won multiple bubble gum blowing contests against the fiercest competitors.

Caroline Warner, Davenport College, caroline.warner@readysetlaunch.org

Caroline Warner is from Mamaroneck, NY. As for now, she is undecided on her academic major. Caroline enjoys swimming, political philosophy, the television show Freaks and Geeks, and cheesy French fries (who doesn’t?). She is also an award-winning wind surfer. She joined RSL because she wants to use her experience to help those going through the college process.

Daniel Dangaran, Ezra Stiles College, daniel.dangaran@readysetlaunch.org

Daniel Dangaran plans to major in American Studies and is from Wahiawa, HI. He loves a capella and is a member of the Yale Alley Cats. He also is interested in musical theater, children’s theater, and special education. As a seventh grader, he met then-senator Barack Obama who inspired him with this pithy piece of advice: “Dream Big.”

David Mandelbaum, Ezra Stiles College, david.mandelbaum@readysetlaunch.org

David Mandelbaum is from New York, NY. Throughout high school, he tutored and mentored multiple people. Thus, upon arriving at Yale, he saw RSL as the perfect way to continue helping motivated high school students navigate the difficult process of applying to college. An interesting fact about David is that he is colorblind.

Eric Rodriguez, Calhoun College, eric.rodriguez@readysetlaunch.org

Eric Rodriguez is from Bellflower, CA. He joined RSL because he was heavily involved in tutoring students from low-income elementary schools in high school and saw firsthand how helping talented students with few resources can shape their lives for the better. A fun fact about Eric is that he has never seen snow fall until he came to Yale.

Jeremy Zitomer, Saybrook College, jeremy.zitomer@readysetlaunch.org

Jeremy Zitomer is a tentative Physics & Philosophy major from Golden’s Bridge, NY. He is interested in developmental psychology and jazz. He also enjoys a capella music and is a member of the Yale Alley Cats. A fun fact about Jeremy is that he is a whopping 6’7” tall (but does not play basketball or football, in case you’re curious).

Julia Levinson, Davenport College, julia.levinson@readysetlaunch.org

Julia Levinson is from Upper Saddle River, NJ. She initially joined RSL because she relied on others for guidance and support throughout the college application process, so she hopes she can offer that same support to another student. Julia once waited outside in the rain for eight hours before a Bruce Springsteen concert in hopes of getting as close to the stage as possible.

Kevin Kucharski, Jonathan Edwards College, kevin.kucharski@readysetlaunch.org

Kevin Kucharski is from Elmira, NY. He is currently undecided on his academic plans. Kevin loves all things sports. He can often be seen attending Yale sporting events, playing intramural sports for Jonathan Edwards, and writing about sports in the Yale Daily News. Taking the old adage to heart, Kevin once actually walked a mile in someone else’s shoes.

Laura Grimbergen, Branford College, laura.grimbergen@readysetlaunch.org

Laura Grimbergen is a tentative Computer Science major from Redwood City, CA, where it is much warmer than New Haven. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in outdoor activities like running and rowing. Additionally, she has an interest in foreign languages and absolutely loves corgis because they’re adorable. Laura also has a twin sister.

Mackenzie Naert, Berkeley College, mackenzie.naert@readysetlaunch.org

Mackenzie Naert is originally from Dallas, TX. She has a strong interest in public health as well as education reform. She joined RSL to learn more about the education system in the United States and give back to the community. Before arriving at Yale, Mackenzie took a gap year after high school to work, travel, and volunteer!

Mikayla Thompson, Silliman College, mikayla.thompson@readysetlaunch.org

Mikayla Thompson is from Madison, WI. Although not completely set on her academic plans, she would like to go into the sciences. She joined RSL because of the direct impact the organization has on helping kids obtain a college education and make a difference in the world. Mikayla also loves snow and winter because she is a cross country ski racer and a ski patroller.

Naaman Mehta, Morse College, naaman.mehta@readysetlaunch.org

Naaman Mehta is from Lexington, VA. She is from a rural community where it was difficult to obtain help in the college admissions process. This ultimately compelled her to join RSL. She wants to help students reach their goals, whether they attend prestigious private schools or rural public schools. She will literally eat anything with Nutella because it is the greatest thing ever.

Ruth Assefa, Calhoun College, ruth.assefa@readysetlaunch.org

Ruth Assefa was born in Ethiopia but has lived in Seattle, WA for the last ten years. She loves reading, watching movies, and traveling. At Yale, she is on the premed track and a tentative Psychology Major. An interesting fact about Ruth is that she was accidentally bit by a Hyena when she went to Ethiopia this past summer (she is thankfully still alive to the tell the story though).
